I believe that the Black Church should be welcoming and affirming of the LGBTQIA+ community. As my kindred in Christ, the Black LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be unconditionally loved by all who follow Jesus. I pledge to speak out against homophobia and queerphobia in my church, in my home, and in my community. I pledge to embody the love of Christ by wholly accepting my LGBTQIA+ kindred as they are. I pledge to educate myself on issues that disproportionately affect the Black LGBTQIA+ community and to acknowledge the harm that I cause intentionally or unintentionally. I pledge to be an unequivocal and unflinching ally of this beloved community.
